Pharaoh Hound

History

Health

In general, the Pharaoh Hound is a healthy breed. However, there are some conditions they are prone to such as hip dysplasia and eye problems. It is therefore important to have the dog checked regularly by a vet and to ensure that it is fed a healthy diet.

Care

The Pharaoh Hound has a short, glossy coat that requires little grooming. An occasional brushing is enough to keep the coat nice and healthy. Nails should be trimmed regularly and teeth brushed to prevent tartar build-up.

Pharaoh Hounds are active dogs that need a lot of exercise. They are not suited to apartment life and need a fenced yard in which to run and play.
